The Modern Tog (www.themoderntog.com) is an online website that teaches photographers how to run profitable and sustainable photography businesses. We sell digital business tools and online courses specifically for aspiring and established professional photographers. We focus on the business of photography and growing communities within this niche.
We are looking for an outstanding Content Specialist to help us educate and empower photographers to make more money in their business.
In our opinion, there are two sides to being a stellar content specialist – writing high-quality, helpful content for professional photographers and making sure that content is seen by them.
We’re looking for someone who is absolutely INCREDIBLE at both!
About you
You find great pleasure in writing and are passionate about helping people. Finding a job that allows you to do both is a dream come true.
You want to make a difference in the lives of others, but you don’t want to be in the limelight. You are confident in the quality of your writing but don’t like attention and love working behind the scenes as the voice of the company.
You understand that simply publishing quality content is not enough. You love finding new ways to get your writing in front of the right people, using channels such as social media, email, online communities, SEO, partnerships, and more. You get just as much satisfaction from helping promote your content as you do in writing it.
You are endlessly curious and creative. You often learn more about a subject than you need to simply because you want to understand it fully. Brainstorming how a broad, general idea can be effectively applied to specific situations sounds like fun to you.
You have a talent for taking complex ideas and breaking them down into easy-to-understand, step-by-step action points. You write with a specific person in mind, hoping they consider your content to be far better than all other sources available on the internet.
You love a good story and try to weave them into your work whenever possible. You are good at coming up with metaphors and analogies to make complex ideas easier to understand and dry material more engaging to learn about.
You love scannable content with headings that pull you in, bulleted lists, and short paragraphs that are easy to digest. Your final draft is far stronger than your first draft, and you see the revision process as your opportunity to make your writing shine.
You understand how to use persuasion in writing. Whether trying to sell a product or an idea, you know how to get readers to take action.
You are an absolute sponge and love to learn new things. You are never held back by a lack of knowledge, get excited to learn something new, and are a ninja at finding the information you need.
You are fascinated with marketing and business and look forward to an opportunity expand your expertise in this topic and teach it to photographers.
You do NOT thrive on being micromanaged and love to be given the freedom to excel in your job. You do your best when you are given clear goals & expectations and are empowered to do them on your own.
