Thanks for promoting The Go-To Guide For Client E-Mails! Here’s several tips and resources to help you make the most money during your promotion, including various ideas for how to promote it as well as target audience descriptions and what they are looking for.
Target Audience
The ebook is written for photographers in their first few years of business who have not yet learned how to do effective client management and tend to have lots of stressful client issues.
About the book:
The ebook will not only give them over 100 customizable responses for as many situations as we could think of, it will also teach them how to avoid these situations in the future through educating clients, setting expectations, and by making their customer service as amazing as possible.
We also include a section about going above and beyond to get amazing word-of-mouth advertising, by discussing things such as how to anticipate and meet the needs of their clients, how to rock the wedding day, how to handle difficult vendor situations on the day of the wedding, and the importance of building relationships with other photographers.
For wedding and portrait photographers:
While the book does have some extra wedding-related content, it’s by no means just for wedding photographers. There’s a great deal of e-mails that are portrait-specific, and all the advice with the exception of the wedding-specific sections at the end is relevant to any portrait or wedding photographer.
Create effective promotions by addressing hesitations
By addressing hesitations up front, readers will be more likely to buy the product. Here’s some of the main hesitations you should address:
Price
We are charging $147 for this ebook. While we think this is a fabulous deal for the amount of information they get and how it can transform their business, ebooks that are geared towards amateurs and beginning pro photographers tend to be priced around the $30-50 range so this may be a jump for them. While products for established photographers tend to be priced at this point or much higher, I expect some hesitations about the price as newer photographers may not yet have been introduced to products at this price point.
Talk about the benefits they’ll get from buying this book (less stress, more time with family, better clients, more positive word-of-mouth advertising, etc) and how the price of the book is definitely worth it. Assuming you actually do feel that is the case, of course.
Relevance
While we’ve chosen the title that we felt was the most convincing, people who are not currently dealing with a difficult client situation may question if this book is for them.
This book is relevant for anyone who:
- Finds it stressful to deal with clients
- Wants more word-of-mouth advertising
- Wants to create an ideal experience for their clients (or have a boutique business model)
- Doesn’t feel like they are good with words
- Feels like they are always having to ask advice about how to handle various client situations
If they have perfected their customer service, they won’t need this book.
Best ways to promote the ebook
Here are several effective ways to promote the ebook:
Write a review
People will want to know what others think about the book before buying, so they’ll go to Google and search for reviews.
Tip: Include both the title of the book and the word “review” to show up higher in search rankings when people go to look for reviews. You’ll get more commissions from people who may not already be part of your audience, and you may also gain new readers. Win-win.
Address the hesitations above in your review for maximum effectiveness. Tell people your honest thoughts about the book, both good and bad. It creates authenticity and shows that you are genuine, and I’m all for honesty. I promise I won’t be offended.
You may choose to focus on only one part of the book for your review. For example, you may want to talk about the email templates and how helpful they are, or about how it changed how you think about customer service, or something along those lines.
Talking about how it will reduce stress, how it’s worth the money, or how it will help you provide a better experience for your clients (and thus get you more clients in the future) are all great approaches to take as well.
Important legal note: If you’ve received a copy from me for free, you need to mention that in your review to keep things legal, and you need to have disclosure on your site somewhere that states that you are using an affiliate link.
Promote it in the context of a normal post
One of the most effective ways to promote a book can be through writing a post on a related topic that mentions this as an additional resource. This is how I get my highest sales, and people are more likely to link to it than to a review, so it tends to bring in sales on a longer-term basis than through blasts or promotions.
Send out an email
Sending an email out to your list telling your audience about the book is another great way to get sales. The more prominence it gets, the better sales you tend to get. I’d actually suggest writing a post on your blog (one of the two types above) and then putting a small blurb in the email newsletter about it with a link to your post later in the email.
Using a photo of the book tends to increase click-through rates, so feel free to use the images below to promote it.
Promote it on Facebook & Twitter
Facebook is an incredibly effective way to promote products. Instead of just posting a link, a tactic most people employ, you’ll get a lot more traction by posting one of the banners or images on this page to your wall, and then use your affiliate link in the description. This will give the post more prominence in the news feed, and people are more likely to engage with the post if there’s a photo instead of just a link because of how they are displayed.
Tell your audience what they get from buying it & what to do next
Always include a benefit & a call to action in your descriptions. Here’s several descriptions you can modify or use as-is on either Facebook or Twitter:
“Get rid of difficult clients, once and for all. Click here: [insert affiliate link]”
“Learn how to have a stress free business with clients who can’t stop raving about you. Get “The Go-To Guide For Client E-mails” today! [insert affiliate link]”
“Take the stress out of dealing with Friends & Family and your business. Check out “The Go-To Guide For Client E-mails” now. [insert affiliate link]”
“Resolve client issues fast and get more of the ideal clients you want! Check it out! [insert affiliate link]”
Talk about it in forums or groups where you are active
Recommend it to people who are asking for advice in forums, tell others about it in groups you’re a part of, email your colleagues. There’s lots of different ways to get the word out, and when it’s done in-context, it’s very effective.
Banners & Images
More ads coming soon, which will be most effective for website usage where you’re not reviewing it. If you want something specific, just ask and I’ll see what I can do.
